In
my collection I have a few cultivars wich are created
by mixing emoryi-blood into corn lines. The emoryi-influence
not only makes a difference in appearance but also when
it comes to breeding. Due to the emoryi blood, the clutches
tend to be smaller but with larger eggs. Also, the hatchlings
are bigger than with pure corn cultivars.
The
emoryi/corn crosses I have are:
-Cinnamon
Motley
These are made by crossing Emoryi with Hypo Motley corns.
In the second generation you will get Cinnamon Motleys.
As hatchlings, they have a wine-red colour which alters
with maturation into an attractive cinnamon-like colour.
-Creamsicle
These are created by crossing emoryi with amelanistic
corns. The most obvious difference with pure amelanistics
is their colour. Creamsicles tend to have much more orange-tone
rather than red. This can vary a lot depending upon how
much emoryi-blood is present. My adult breeders are bright
orange coloured as are their offspring.
-
Creamsicle striped
These are created in the same way as Creamsicles but by
using amel stripes to add the striped trait into Creamsicles.
